App Review: Alphabetic by No Monkeys
Alphabetic is a simple yet challenging game to play. It is challenging enough to keep adults interested and easy enough for kids to catch on. The object of the game is very straight-forward. Find the 26 letters of the alphabet before time runs out. You start with 26 seconds on the clock and earn 3 seconds for each letter you find. The game starts with only one or two letters on the screen, making touching the right one easy. As the game progresses becomes more and more challenging as the letters bounce, swirl, and fly around the screen, crossing in front of and behind one another.
Once you complete the “Quick Game,” you can move on to the “Challenges.” Here is where things really get tricky. Now you must complete the game with several different twists. One challenge has you find the letters in the alphabet backwards, one has you find numbers, and still others increase the speed or difficulty of the game. For completing difficult feats, you earn trophies. Twenty-six of them in all. One for each letter of the alphabet. Some trophies are easier to earn than others. However, don’t plan on being able to get them all on your own. To earn them all, you must use the “Tell a Friend” function of the game. Alphabetic is fun and addicting to play. Whether you are looking for a quick 2 minute game or something to work at for awhile, this one fits the bill.
Alphabetic is $1.99 in the iTunes App Store.
