App Review: Hexy by Fifth Ace Productions
For the first few hours, Hexy drove me crazy. Not matter what I did, I could not seem to win a single game. Now that I have won a few games, I think that Hexy is a great game of strategy. It will challenge you to find ways to keep one step ahead of your opponent or at least keep up. The game board consists of several rows of hexagons. The object of the game is to create a bridge from one side of the board to the opposite side by filling in the hexagons with your color before your opponent blocks your path. The game can be played alone with “Buzzy” as your opponent or with two players on the same device or even with another person on a different device over Wi-Fi or the Internet. I started off playing this game against Buzzy and found that he was smarter than I thought he would be.
The rules and goals of this game are easy enough for kids to play, but can prove challenging (and may we add addicting) to adults too. The instructions provided with the game get you started, but it takes a few games before you really understand how the game works. A great pick for those who like a puzzle.
Hexy is free until February 1st in the iTunes App Store.
