ifitnesssquare1 150x150 App Review: iFitness Helps Work Off the Extra WeightWe all know that if we want to live a long and productive life, we need to make exercise a part of our lives.  iFitness by Medical Productions can be very helpful in developing and maintaining a regular exercise routine.  iFitness contains an long list of exercises organized by their target area of the body.  You can also view them by specific target muscles or in alphabetical order.  When you tap on an exercise, a picture of the exercise is displayed with three buttons in the upper right hand corner.  The quote button reveals detailed step-by-step instructions on how to perform the exercise.  The pencil button allows you to enter a log of how and when you completed that exercise.  You can enter the date you exercised, the weights you used, the reps you performed, and other notes.  The graph button provides graphs of all of the data that you enter in the log section.  If you can’t find your favorite exercises, you can enter them in on your own.  You can also add your own pictures and descriptions.

Once you have identified the exercises that work for you, you can design your own workout in the My Workouts tab.  You name your workout and select the exercises that you want included.  You can keep different lists for days you go to the gym, days that you workout at home, strength training, cardio, etc.  If you don’t want to design your own or don’t know where to start, there are pre-designed workouts included in the app under the Routines tab.  There are 9 workouts to choose from.  These workouts include the Beginner Program, Weight Loss Program, Muscle Building Program, the Business Travel Workout, and more.  This last one is my favorite.  It contains a list of exercises that can be done almost anywhere without exercise equipment.

Once you have entered in the data for your workout, you can view it in the Logs tab.  You can view your workout data for any day up to the last 30 days.  You can also export the data and email it to yourself.

iFitness is a very well designed app that is packed with information and tools to help you meet your fitness goals.

Note: A new update to the app was release this morning (3/23/09).  The update adds more cardio exercises and makes moving from one exercise log to the next faster.  The next update is going to add stretching exercises.

  1. we bought some exercise equipment from a local supplier and most of them are made in china. i do not know if those exercise equipment would last long.;,~

    Good applicaton, but I don’t think it has not enough exercises to keep fit. I have found another applications where you can get more exercises – All-in Fitness by Viaden Mobile where there are exoburant exercises for all types of fitness.
