App Review: Rasta Monkey by Nitako
Rasta Monkey by Nitako is a great adventure game. You are a monkey whose father is now growing very old. He can no longer gather the fruit he needs for his special fruit drink. Your job is to gather fruits for him while evading monsters at the same time.
The levels on Rasta Monkey consist of a series of trees and caverns. You can swing from the trees and roll on the branches and through caverns. Several times you will even come to a rope that you can swing from to get across large spaces.
The controls on Rasta Monkey are very simple. To roll around, all you need to do is tap in the direction you would like to go. If you tap in the bottom on the screen then you can make your monkey drop to the under side of the branch where he will grab on and continue to follow your commands. In order to jump to a new branch, touch both fingers to the screen until the monkey starts to spin in circles. When you feel you have enough momentum to make the jump, release your fingers. To change the direction which the monkey will jump, slide your fingers up and down on the sides of the screen. If you want to cancel the jump, release only one finger instead of two and the monkey will continue on.
Rasta Monkey has wonderful graphics and smooth gameplay. To make it even cooler, all of the talking on the game is done with a Jamaican accent, giving it more of an island setting.
Rasta Monkey is available in the iTunes App Store for $0.99.
