App Review: Rogue Touch by ChronoSoft
Rogue Touch by ChronoSoft is a classic 2D roll playing game that is grandfather to the Mystery Dungeon games. You are walking through the dungeon trying to find the Amulet of Yendor. This classic game begins with basic weapons and protection to help you on your quest. Old time graphics and dungeon music will make you feel like you are really there.
To control your guy, tap the screen in the direction you wish to go. Collect gold and other items to help you on your journey. You have hearts at the top of the screen that indicate your life and various other icons that show strength and type of weapon and armor you are using. Every so often you will run into a monster. If you are using a bow and arrow, you simply tap on your guy, select shoot, and tap in the direction of the enemy. If you are wielding any hand held weapon, simply motion towards the enemy. The map is displayed at the bottom of the screen to indicate where doors and items are. To uncover more of the map, you must travel through it. If your character is tired, simply press the sleep button and let him sleep. To eat food, drink potions, or put on different armor or weapons, enter your inventory by tapping on your guy. You can go to the next floor of the dungeon even before you uncover the whole floor. Beware, though, the floors get increasingly difficult all the way until you find the Amulet of Yendor. If you do not like the controls, you can use a D-pad by changing it in the the settings under additional apps.
Overall, Rogue Touch is a really great app that has user-friendly controls and lots of cool features.
Rogue Touch is available in the iTunes App Store for $0.99.
