App Review: StickWars by John E. Hartzog
StickWars by John E. Hartzog is a fun defend your castle game. This game is just like the old online game. Your goal is to defend the castle using archers, wizards, and your own finger through unlimited rounds of attackers. You begin the first level with nothing but your finger’s reflexes.
As the stick figures run at your castle, touch them with your finger and flick upwards. They will die when they hit the ground and you will get $50 per kill. If you do not flick them high enough, they will stand up and run at your castle again. At the end of each round, you visit the store. You can use your money there to fix your castle or get help protecting it. To get archers and wizards for your castle, you must buy the buildings and then a prison to recruit people. When you buy the buildings, a brief explanation will be given on how to use it. Once you have built your prison, gently place individuals into the center, after a couple seconds this prisoner will be ready to be recruited to be an archer or wizard. You just click on the tent for the position you want them to hold and that is what they become.
As you beat each round, the levels will get harder and there will be more enemies. If the game seems too hard or you don’t like amount of blood, they can both be changed in the options menu. StickWars is a fun, challenging way to spend your time. The graphics look good and the game is smooth.
StickWars is $0.99 in the iTunes App Store.
