App Review: iFighter by EpicForce
iFighter by EpicForce is a fun airplane shooter game. You are the Air Force’s number one pilot in WWII and it is your job to take out the Nazis. The goal of the game is to destroy as many tanks, planes, ships, and guns as you possibly can. As you destroy these enemies, they leave behind stars and medals for you to collect. After you have beaten the level or been shot down, your points are added up. You gain points by destroying enemies, saving your bombs, and collecting stars.
There are three ways to control your airplane: Joypad, Swipe, and Motion. With the Joypad setting you place your finger on the pad at the bottom left of the screen, and guide your plane as if it was a joy stick. In the Swipe mode, you slide your finger around on the screen to indicate which way the plane should fly. In the Motion control, tilt your device in the direction you want to go. In the settings menu, you can also calibrate angle and sensitivity, toggle auto fire, and adjust music levels.
Once you have chosen your favorite control setting, you are ready to take out the Nazis. There are four large levels with hundreds of Nazis on each level. Each level ends with a boss enemy. While you are destroying tanks, planes, and other war vessels, they occasionally release power-ups. Some power ups include multiple shot, two sidekicks to give you assistance, and health boxes. If you begin to feel overwhelmed by the chaos on the screen, press the bomb button at the bottom right of the screen to call a giant plane to come and destroy everything on the screen with a bomb raid. There are a total of three difficulties, and your top scores for each are placed on the high scores table.
iFighter is a fun game with hours of fun on each difficulty and level. This game is definitely one to have on your iPod, especially for the price. The graphics are grea. The game play is very smooth and easy to control.
iFighter is $0.99 in the iTunes App Store.
