App Review: Parachute Panic by FDG Entertainment
Parachute Panic is a simple yet challenging game. The goal is to safely land as many parachuters in the boats as you can. The parachuters fall from planes at the top of the screen. Some of them automatically open their parachutes. Others need some help. Simply tap on the person to open their parachute. Your job is not done there, though. Often you need to help steer the parachuters into the boat below. You can bring up a slight wind to blow them from side to side by swiping your finger either left or right over the parachuter. If the parachuter misses the boat, he will land the in the water and get gobbled up by the shark. Watch out! Some of the boats are moving.
There are also other dangers that the parachuters may encounter on their way down. Helicopters and alien ships can be destroyed by tapping on them five times. Thunder clouds may cause the parachuters to get struck by lightning. Unfortunately, there is no way to get rid of them. You just need to avoid them. For each game you have 5 lives represented by smiley faces at the top of the screen. Each time one of the parachuters dies, one of the smiley faces changes to a frowny face.
The stats section of this game is especially interesting. It gives you lots of stats to help you see where you are making most of your mistakes. These stats can be helpful in trying to improve your game and beat your high score. In playing this game, I found it to be extremely challenging. The game moves very quickly. You have to stay on your toes, or those five lives can be lost very quickly. Overall, a fun game that will keep you coming back for more.
Parachute Panic is $0.99 in the iTunes App Store.
