Need Push for More Than GMail? There’s an App For That.

I’ve been curious why for so long there’s only been push notification apps for Google’s GMail when there’s several other email platforms out there, all with plenty of users on them. Sure, GMail would have the most users than any of the others, but it can’t be that hard to do if you’re already pushing GMail notifications. I’ve discussed other apps, such as GPush before. I’ve even gone to lengths of using Yahoo! mail to get my email pushed to my iPhone (there’s a how-to for that!).

So today I am notified that Enflick Inc. has an app that does notifications for three of the major mail platforms: Gmail, AOL and Hotmail. Mail Notifier for iPhone has been submitted and the developers are still waiting on approval from Apple. However, once it’s been approved we will see about getting a review out asap.

Press Release:

Enflick, Inc. brings push notifications for Hotmail, Gmail, and AOL email accounts to the iPhone

Waterloo, Ontario – September 15, 2009 – Enflick, Inc. recently submitted Mail Notifier to Apple’s iTunes App Store for review. Mail Notifer is the first iPhone application in the App Store to provide push notifications for Hotmail and AOL email accounts. Mail Notifier also supports Gmail accounts just like the “Gpush” application currently out in the App Store, but provides more instantaneous and reliable push notifications. Once approved by Apple, the application will be available for purchase in the iTunes App Store for $4.99 (US).
