IPhone Saves the Planet!—IPhone Exclusive Action Game “PlanetOne” Ships—
June, 2010— Independent game developer Paulson Apps announced today that side-scrolling IPhone™ game “PlanetOne” has been released at an initial launch price of $0.99 through the iTunes App Store™. iTunes App Store is Apple’s™ digital distribution system for IPhone-based mobile phones.
PlanetOne is a ‘Retro Style’ side-scrolling 2D video game that stars a little blue man. The man must run, jump, and roll his way through 22 action-packed and unique levels to take back the life-force of his planet, The Maya. Designed from the ground up for Apple devices, PlanetOne is compatible with all major Apple devices running versions 3.0 and greater, including the IPhone™, IPod Touch™, and IPad™.
“I wanted to bring the characteristics of the classic platformers we all fell in love to a new Iphone medium,” said PlanetOne lead engineer and designer Jason Elbourne. “While there are plenty of games for the IPhone, I noticed a lack of Retro 2D side-scrolling action games with a traditional tiledmap look and classic controls . I decided to do something about that.”
With cute, 2D characters and a retro style, PlanetOne brings classic “platformer” game play to your IPhone device. Players must guide the little blue man as he searches for The Maya, the life-force of his planet, which was stolen by an evil being. The planet has now been populated by a diverse ecosystem of robots and deadly lava, but perhaps more dangerous is Dr. Kular, the leader of a shadowy mega corporation who has stolen The Maya. Players who are capable enough to find The Maya may discover that not everything on PlanetOne is as it seems, with hidden passageways in many areas, leading to hidden Gems.
More information, including a development diary and game media, can be found on the PlanetOne website, www.planetonegame.com. Development and GamePlay video can be found on the YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/user/paulsondev, PlanetOne itself can be downloaded directly from the iTunes App Store. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/planetone-the-2d-platformer/id373234686?mt=8
