Here’s a bit of exciting news we just received in our PR inbox: the makers of the hit game series Tap Tap Revenge have partnered with music production house Warner Music Group. The agreement will presumably allow Tapulous to release more Revenge titles with more access to popular music artists. We recently reviewed Tap Tap Nirvana and so this news is exciting, especially for us here at AC.

The agreement allows Tapulous to offer an unprecedented range of music to its 30 million users and gives WMG’s artists valuable exposure to a highly engaged audience. Over the next year Tapulous will release and promote four premium games featuring top WMG artists. Games will include the artist’s greatest hits and bonus tracks of remixes, previously unreleased material or live recordings.

The partnership solidifies Tapulous’s leadership at the intersection of music and gaming as they now have relationships with all major labels and proves the Tap Tap series to be a powerful platform for driving music purchases and engaging fans.

“At WMG we were early believers in the enormous opportunities to experience music on the mobile platform and in pursuing those opportunities we try to look for new ways to grow that business and provide consumers with innovative ways to discover and consume music on their mobile devices,” said Mark Pinkus, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Licensing, Rhino Entertainment, WMG’s catalog division.  “With Tapulous’ exciting family of games, we’re adding yet another compelling content experience and offering our artists a unique and powerful platform for engaging with fans around the world.”

Tim O’Brien, VP of business development at Tapulous added, “Warner Music Group has incredible current and catalog artists, and we are thrilled to bring these stars to the Tapulous mobile gaming platform. This creates a strong opportunity for artists and labels, as the experience deepens fans’ appreciation of legendary tracks and allows them to discover new hits.”

Tapulous’ flagship games, Tap Tap Revenge and Riddim Ribbon, are highly graphical rhythm music games that set skill-based gameplay to popular music tracks. The result is a highly entertaining gaming experience that appeals to both gamers and music fans.
