On the Tonight Show with Jay Leno tonight there were no shortage of shots at the iPhone 4 and even Steve Jobs. During Jay’s monologue he quipped about a new app being made for the iPhone that will actually allow users to make a phone call. There was also a series on the current reception debacle, or “Antennagate” that it’s become known as. Later in the monologue Jay remarked that Steve Jobs was staring in a move titled: “Reception?” an obvious play on the recent hit movie: “Inception” that dominated box offices this past weekend.
Despite the late night shots at Steve and the iPhone, Apple reported a phenomenal quarter with earnings increasing a whopping 78% and blowing past analysts expectations. Apple sold 3.27MM iPads and 8.4MM iPhones during the quarter (a long with a truck load of Macs). “It was a phenomenal quarter that exceeded our expectations all around, including the most successful product launch in Apple’s history with iPhone 4,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “iPad is off to a terrific start, more people are buying Macs than ever before, and we have amazing new products still to come this year.”
So take that, Leno!
At any rate, I happened to snap this screen shot during the Tonight Show using my Nikon camera and the pic came out pretty good, so here it is – Steve Jobs in “Reception?”
