App Review: Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies II By Activision

Activision have released their sequel to their Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies franchise with their latest release: Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies II. The original COD Zombies sold like crazy and received raving reviews by players on iTunes. So its no surprise that they have published a sequel to the franchise.

Those looking for a complete rewrite of the game may be disappointed as the first thing i noticed about this app was that it was extremely like the first title. I don’t mean slightly similar i mean exactly like it. The menu screen, the launch video, the sounds, everything is taken from the original iPhone game. Until i had seen the new map i had thought they had accidentally re-published there first game. I also took a look at the initial reviews and it seems there was quite a few angry customers who had also bought the second installment and were also disappointed that they were charged full price for what appears to be nothing more than a new map.

However, apart from this the game is actually great! The new map is enjoyable with allot more space and better graphics. They have also brought out an array of new weapons and some in game tools to help you diminish the zombie uprising. I would have nothing but praise for this game if it was more than just a new map with added weapons. However, as it is now I cannot recommend it unless you really love the franchise and will not be bothered by a relatively minor updated sequel.

What We Liked: the new map, new weapons.
What We Didn’t Like: Appears to be COD:WAW:Z re-released with minimal update.
