Chicago based VoteQuimby, LLC today announces iDiscrete 1.1, which aims to be the world’s most fully-featured privacy application for the iPhone. iDiscrete serves to protect private content, while simultaneously concealing the fact that an app with this functionality exists on the phone. If the user is the iPhone’s owner, then they know that there is actually a password screen, and touching various regions of the screen in the correct order will open up the app.
Chicago, Illinois – VoteQuimby, LLC, a privately held iPhone(R) software development company, is pleased to announce the release and immediate availability of iDiscrete 1.1, which aims to be the world’s most fully-featured privacy application for the iPhone(R). iDiscrete is not the first app that allows users to store certain sensitive videos and images separate from the others on the phone. It’s not even the first app to password protect said content. However, it IS the first app that protects the private content, while simultaneously concealing the fact that an app with this functionality exists on the phone.
The icon and stated name of the application are unassuming: the name shows simply as ‘iD’ under a plain blue orb of an icon. Launching the app is equally mundane, as a “Loading…” screen quickly comes up. But, importantly, this is the screen that makes all the difference. If the user is the iPhone’s owner, then they know that this is actually the password screen, and that touching various regions of the screen, in the correct order, will open up the app. The developers call this Touch Sequence Protection(TM). On the other hand, if the user is a curious trespasser, they will regard the “Loading…” screen as just part of the app, which, when it eventually loads, appears to be some sort of text-entry app. Boring. Close.
It is exactly this reaction in an unauthorized user that iDiscrete intends to provoke, and it is exactly this factor that sets it apart from the competition. An app that immediately prompts for a password requires an explanation, whereas iDiscrete does not. Once safely inside, the user finds that images or videos can be easily imported from those already on the phone, or content can be uploaded directly via WiFi with a web browser. Content within iDiscrete can be emailed directly, or exported to the Camera Roll to be sent via MMS. Additionally, supported file formats include DOC, XLS, PPT, PDF and TXT (the last of which can be created and edited right on the phone). Now the user has a handy place to store passwords, PINs and private phone numbers too.
Pricing and Availability:
At $1.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies), iDiscrete 1.1 is priced well below other apps with similar functionality, and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Utilities category. And, of course, with iDiscrete you won’t be fielding questions like, “Hey, what’s this app with a password all about??”

iDiscrete operates on a simple principle:
For less than the price of a cup of coffee, iDiscrete is the most fully featured privacy application available in the App Store. Rather than requiring a suspicious looking password, iDiscrete employs its patent-pending Touch Sequence Protection™. This works by bringing up a nondescript “Loading” screen upon entry to the application, which registers touch input in 8 discrete locations. The user has predefined their desired Touch Sequence, which can be as simple or as complicated as they wish. The Loading screen will only grant access to iDiscrete if the correct Touch Sequence is entered. Otherwise, when the Touch Sequence Timeout expires without receiving the correct sequence, the app will boot to a generic-looking text entry interface. This unique feature, combined with an application icon and name that do not give away its functionality, mean that an unauthorized user would never suspect the true nature of the app.
iDiscrete distinguishes itself from the competition in a number of important ways:
► PRICE ◄
iDiscrete is half the price of its nearest legitimate competition. DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND READ OUR REVIEWS, AND YOU WILL FIND THAT iDISCRETE IS BY FAR THE BEST VALUE, AND A SUPERIOR APP.
► FUNCTIONALITY ◄
iDiscrete offers BOTH image and video storage, in contrast to some apps which require two separate purchases to achieve the same result. Easily move images or videos already on the phone into iDiscrete, or use the iDiscrete File Manager to transfer them directly via WiFi. v1.1 adds support for TXT, DOC, XLS, PPT and PDF files.
► UPDATES ◄
We have many future upgrades planned that will add even more functionality to iDiscrete, many of which were taken directly from real end-user suggestions. CURRENTLY BEING WORKED ON: DIRECT IMAGE/VIDEO CAPTURE FROM WITHIN THE APP, SUBFOLDERS, DRAG-AND-DROP FILE/FOLDER REORGANIZING, iPHONE-TO-iPHONE TRANSFERS VIA BLUETOOTH, PLUS A DOOZY THAT WE CAN’T MENTION, BUT WILL SURELY BE A USER FAVORITE! Other apps do not offer the continuing customer support and updates that we do.
► TWO-WAY FILE TRANSFERS ◄
Using our innovative iDiscrete File Manager, you can get your content onto the iPhone using any computer with a web browser and a WiFi connection. In addition, YOU CAN PULL CONTENT OFF THE PHONE IN THE SAME WAY. iDiscrete allows you to upload any file type, and in this way it functions as a mass storage device, with the added security of Touch Sequence Protection™.
► It’s right in the name: DISCREET! ◄
Other apps simply password protect your content, but to prying eyes this can still look very suspicious. Thus, iDiscrete not only hides the sensitive content and effectively password protects it, but it conceals the very fact that an app with this functionality exists. It avoids a situation where an unauthorized user may inadvertently click on the app, see a password, and ask you “Hey, what’s this??” IT NEVER LOOKS LIKE YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO HIDE WITH iDISCRETE.
