icon@120 App Review: Notae Mihi by PearappsNotae Mihi is the best replacement for the built in notes app on the iPhone and iPod Touch.

It provides many advanced features that the built in app does not have, such as tags, todos, passcode lock and a lot more.

Notae Mihi is hands down the best Notes and Todos app in the app store to date. It has an amazingly slick UI, that is fast and efficient and is very simple and minimalist, so anyone can use it well.

When you open Notae Mihi you are presented with three options. Notes, Todos, and Settings. In Todos it presents you with the list of todos that you have created. There is a pane for tags, new todo, and a special calendar view in which you can view all of the due dates of your todos in a special calendar view that looks similar to the built in calendar app. When you click the plus button up pops up a nicely designed view in which you can enter text for todo title, and it also lets you add a note to the todo. You can also add a date to the todo, by clicking “Add Date”.

If you click the “Notes” option on the main screen you get presented with a screen similar to the todos page, but with your notes. A nice thing that is not included in the built in notes app is that the number of characters in a note is provided right next to the note title. This page also gives you an option to create a new note by tapping the plus button on the top right hand corner on the page. If you click on a note, you can edit your note. On the new or editing a note page, you have the option to send to email or you can add tags. Both of which I find very useful.

If you tap the settings icon in the bottom right corner, you get the settings screen which allows you to lock the app to portrait or to use the passcode lock.

Passcode lock is the killer feature in Notea Mihi, and it woks almost exactly like the built in device lock, but only asks you for your password when you launch the app (if you enabled the passcode lock).

Overall this app is defiantly a must have, especially only at 0.99$. Defiantly a 5/5 in my book.

What I like about the app: Very simple to use and includes a password lock unlike the basic notepad on the device!
